Getting your deck ready for spring

Punxsutawney Phil promises only six more weeks of the cold snowy weather.

As I write this it is once again snowing outside the office window, yet everyone seems to be looking towards the upcoming spring. People are already talking about planning gardens, cookouts, and the like. If you are dreaming of life on your deck this spring and summer, now is the time to plan ahead for annual maintenance. Skipping a day of TLC for your deck in the spring can end up costing you big money in the long run.

What you need to “Snow” before clearing your deck this winter

There seems to be two types of people around the office these days. The first kind are the ones complaining about the 9° F start to the day and dreading inevitable snow storms. The other type is me. Having been raised by a family of polar bears I enjoy the cold weather and think snow is beautiful. Part of why I enjoy the winter is I have learned how to avoid damaging my deck while at the same time keeping it free and clear of snow and ice. Follow these tips and you can avoid damage to your deck and enjoy a wonderful mid-January cook out.

What you don't know about deck safety could KILL YOU!....well at least brake your ankle.

Honestly I don’t know if this includes the deck, but as I found out last week accidents happen on the deck as well. A simple miss step and I am in a cast for 6 weeks with a broken ankle. SO since I am stuck at my desk with my foot up and everyone is running around doing the heavy lifting for me let’s talk deck safety.

Summer Cookout 2017

This past Friday the staff and their families here at Atlantis Rail Systems & Suncor Stainless stoked up the grill and cracked open a cold drink for our annual company cook out. This yearly tradition is a chance for all our employees and their families to let their hair down and blow off some steam. Our work day ended a few hours early to enjoy good food, games, waterslides, and even an ice cream truck.

A picture is worth a thousand words…..or in this case $500!

Have you recently installed a SunRail, NOVA II, or any Atlantis Rail Cable Railing System? Do you want to share with the world how amazing it looks? Snap some pictures and enter Atlantis Rail’s Photo Contest. This contest is open to both the home/business owner with the railing systems as well as contractors who install our systems.

What Happens in Vegas…..Increases speed to market!?!

Our New 10,000 Square Foot warehouse

We here at Atlantis Rail/Suncor Stainless have been working hard over the years to ensure all our customers get quality merchandise as quickly as possible. Unfortunately since we are located in America’s Home town (Plymouth MA) it has been a struggle to get our product to our customers in the western part of the country. So opening a facility in Las Vegas doesn’t sound like much of a gamble at all. So that’s exactly what we did.

Atlantis Rail Joins J&W Lumber aboard the USS Midway

In 1957 with a truckload of used lumber, J&W Lumber opened for business. Now some 60 years later they are still going strong. This family run business has since moved on from used lumber and now brings its customers the best of the best in the building materials market. To celebrate their 60th year in business they threw a customer appreciation event aboard the USS Midway Museum and Atlantis Rail Systems was lucky to be part of it.
